Councillor Taylor, Chair of the Committee, having a prejudicial interest in application 19/00455/FUL as the applicant did not attend the meeting. The Vice-Chair chaired the meeting.

The Solicitor advised Members that unless they were close personal friends of Councillor Taylor they could take part in the determination of the application.

To approve as a correct record the minutes of the meeting held on 4^th June 2019.

Application for determination:

Erection of a two-storey side extension and single storey rear extension at 100 Eastern Avenue.

The Planning Officer presented the report which detailed an applicationfor the erection of a two storey side extension and single storey rear extensions at 100, Eastern Avenue. She noted that no objections had been received from neighbours.

The Vice-Chair moved and Councillor Lugg seconded that planning permission be granted subject to the conditions in the report.

RESOLVED that planning permission be granted subject to the conditions in the report.

To consider a schedule of applications determined under delegated powers during the month of May 2019.

Consideration was given to a schedule of applications determined under delegated powers during the month of May 2019.

A Member stated that he had received concerns about a backlog in the determination of delegated applications particularly in respect of property renovation where there was a limited window for the availability of funding.

The Technical Planning Manager stated that there had been a small capacity issue due to the departure of a Principal Planning Officer and the move of the department to Shire Hall. He confirmed that the statistics remained satisfactory and noted that the Cabinet Member for Planning and Housing Strategy had been questioning the situation.

The Vice-Chair noted that the performance statistics presented to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee on the previous evening had been very good.

The Member asked if any complaints had been received and was advised that a few had been received and were being dealt with.

RESOLVED that the Schedule be noted.
