85.1    The Mayor announced with sadness the deaths of Mr Steve Lugg, spouse of Councillor Jan Lugg and Bishop Michael Perham, the former Bishop of Gloucester.

 

85.2    Councillor Haigh paid tribute to the late Steve Lugg, husband of fellow ward Councillor Jan Lugg, thanking everyone for their kind wishes and words of sympathy. She referenced Mr Lugg’s contribution to the Civic office, including being the Mayor’s consort during Councillor Lugg’s year in office and his leading role in the restoration of the civic silver and chains of office. Councillor Haigh noted Mr Lugg’s involvement in the Constituency Labour Party (CLP), acting as an election agent for the Labour Party Councillors in the local elections on the 5th May 2016. She acknowledged his hard work and dedication to the City and the courteous and humorous manner in which he went about his work. She invited all Members to attend his funeral on the 12th May at Gloucester Cathedral followed by a wake at the Arbor, Gloucester Crematorium.
