To let a contract to Stewkley Enterprise Agency (SEA) to undertake an amenity grass cutting trial at Podsmead for the 2019 grass cutting season (April – October 2019)

Enabling maintenance of public open space to be delivered in this way via a social enterprise provides a range of benefits to those individuals employed through the scheme.  These benefits include financial, social, health & wellbeing and more generally increases the life chances of those involved.  Furthermore trialing such an arrangement will allow the council to investigate the long-term viability of devolving services in new ways both in Podsmead but also more widely across the City.  The trial has taken place for the previous 12 months but we are planning to include a wider area plus the team are supporting another ward to develop a similar project.
