To extend the current contracts with
Cheltenham YMCA in respect of the Management of Gloucester City
Council’s Temporary Accommodation at Jubilee House and
Caridas House until 02 April 2023.
Decision:
To extend the current contracts with Cheltenham YMCA in respect of the Management of Gloucester City Council’s Temporary Accommodation at Jubilee House and Caridas House until 02 April 2023.
Reasons for the decision:
A full procurement exercise for the Temporary Accommodation Management contract for both Jubilee House and Caridas House has been delayed due to delays in completing necessary repairs required prior to procurement.
The service needs to remain operational in order to meet the needs of households who require temporary accommodation placements, and the ending of the existing contract would result in closure of the accommodation and the loss of temporary accommodation.
Alternative options considered:
Not extending the contract would result in the closure of the service at a time when demand for temporary accommodation to accommodate homeless households is high.
